Pianist Myrto Akrivou Myrto Akrivou has studied at the National Conservatory, where she took an Honors Piano First Certificate (1996) being a student of Stella Makrigianni and an Honors Piano Diploma and the second prize (1999) being a student of Elena Mouzala. She completed the postgraduate studies at the Conservatory of Classical and Modern Music, where she took the Performer’s Recital Diploma (LLCM) of London College of Music at Thames Valley University with Penny Sue Joyce. Myrto Akrivou has studied Monody at the National Conservatory with Kostas Iliopoulos and Music Harmony at the Conservatory of Zografou with Matthew Legakis. She has attended piano master classes with Alain Lefevre (National Conservatory, 1999), Rudolf Jansen (Megaron Concert hall 2000), Elena Mouzala (1999-2000), C. Ganev (National Conservatory, 2001). She has attended seminars of the Greek Union for the Music Education (E.E.M.E.) such as Piano Methods with Liana Haratsi (1999), Dalcroze Method with Amalia Zahariadi (1999), Sancan Technique with Elena Mouzala (1999), Piano and creative relations with Dora Psaltopoulou. She has also attended the Kodaly System, a five-month programme with Thomas Kondogeorgis (Music School Music Cycle, 1999-2000). Among others, she has given a piano recital at the Municipality of Psihiko (1998) with works by Bach, Scarlatti and Beethoven. Furthermore, she has taken part in the Cultural Summer of the Municipality of Skiathos (2000) with works for bassoon and piano. She has given concerts with American Music at the art-cafe' Concerto (1996-97) with works for solo piano and works for saxophone and piano. She has co-operated with the Band and the Choir of the Municipality of Kalloni (1998-2000) playing songs written by Hatzidakis, Theodorakis and other composers in the summer festivals of the Municipality of Kalloni, Mithimna and Eressos at Lesvos Island. She has taken part in the Studio of Chamber Music (1998-99) of the National Conservatory of Apostolos Hatonidis and she has given concerts in the Greek National Opera, the House of Cyprus, the Municipality of Athens, the cultural summer of the Municipality of Kalloni in Lesvos and in the Athenian Municipal Theatre. Since 2001, Mirto Akrivou collaborates with the composer Giorgos Minas taking part in concerts with his works in the Hora Theatre, the Bouzianis Museum and elsewhere. Since 1997, she accompanies classical singers and instrumentalists (piano, violin, violoncello, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, bassoon, flute players etc.) and she has taken part in many concerts, competitions, examinations etc. Since November of 2000, she is a founding and active member (pianist and voice tuition) of the professional vocal ensemble Eklipsis and the ensemble has given concerts in theatres and in other places all over Greece. Moreover, as a student she has taken part in many concerts of the National Conservatory. She has co-operated with Lila Stilianou in a piano duo giving concerts with works of classical and modern music. Since 2003, Myrto Akrivou is a member of the music ensemble "Trio da Camera" (flute: Spiros Papikinos, cello: Maria Dimisianou), having given many concerts all over Greece. As an extraordinary member of Trio Olympico (violin: Nina Patrikidou, saxophone: Stathis Mavromatis), she has taken part in the Festival of Estate Musicale Frentana in Lanciano of Italy in Teatro Comunale Fedele Fenaroli on 11-9-2004. Since 1992, she teaches piano in private, as well as in the Music School of Zografou and the Conservatory En Organis. |
